FRESH FROM THE FIREBIRD #13

Hello Commanders, 

As the summer sun sets on the mighty Ares, a new contender appears on the horizon, ready to take on the title of king of the skies. 

The V-44 Titanus 

With a massive amount of health and armor, the V-44 Titanus can take a beating as it circles above the battlefield, unleashing its varied arsenal on those below. Visually, the Titanus is unlike any other fixed wing we’ve released in WCRA – it’s based on the unique experimental designs of the V-44 Quad TiltRotor by Bell Helicopters and Boeing Aerospace for the US military’s Joint Heavy Lift program. Meant to have a carrying capacity of a C-130 Hercules and the ability to takeoff and land vertically, the V-44 Quad TiltRotor would have been an awesome sight on the modern battlefield (and it may still see the light of day – tests are still ongoing under the Joint Future Theater Lift program).

In WC:RA, the V-44 Titanus has unparalleled amounts of health and a lethal mix of anti-turret and unit-killing weapons perfect for providing support to your platoon on the offensive or protecting your base on defense. However you outfit these flying tanks, their massive, sturdy hulls can take a massive amount of incoming fire, breathing new life into fragile Wyverns so they can survive multiple sorties in a single battle. 

With even more defensive capabilities than the mighty Ares, the V-44 Titanus has a longer deployment time, but luckily you have a greater chance of seeing it come flying into defend your base thanks to the increased HP of the new Airfield 13.

The future

As summer fades into early fall, you can expect to see a change of season on the battlefield as well, as we move towards units that favour speed over heavy armor as they race to victory.
