June Economy Overhaul

Commanders, the team is pleased to bring an economy change to Rogue Assault that is reducing the cost of units across nearly all tiers. This change focuses on decreasing the cost of units at the early and mid-levels of the game, with dramatic reductions to the cost of upgrading equipment across the board.

This is a major change that has been in the works for some time and was heavily motivated by community feedback. We appreciate you making your voices heard, and hope you enjoy the changes! Let’s dive in.

Overview of changes for post-June economy

  • Critical cost removed from all remaining unit builds.
  • Metal cost adjusted in unit builds to directly reflect size of unit.
  • Metal cost normalized to be included in all unit promotions.
  • On average, overall unit costs decreased by ~25%
  • Once a unit reaches a certain age, its overall costs decrease to ensure that new players can continue to reach the endgame at a reasonable speed.

BUILD COST ADJUSTMENTS

Build costs are split into Metal cost and Critical cost. Critical cost has been reduced by 100% across the board, as units no longer require any Criticals to build. Metal cost has – on average – increased across all tiers to directly reflect unit capacity. This increase is entirely offset by decreased costs in other areas.

PROMOTION COST ADJUSTMENTS

Promotion costs are split into Metal, Critical, and Unit Common costs. Metal costs have been added to Tier 1 and 2 units, which formerly had none. Critical costs have increased across most tiers, but then stabilize around Tier 5. Unit Common costs have been adjusted to gradually increase along a more predictable trajectory.

  • Purchasable offers have already had their costs adjusted prior to this change.
  • Tier 6 units released with this economy change in mind. They are largely unchanged.
  • The TOS-1, Zeus, and Hind received out of the ordinary alterations because they were straddling tiers and were fully shifted to a lower tier.
