Introducing the Heavy Turret & Heavy Platform

HEAVY PLATFORM
The Heavy Platform is a unique building that has similar functionality to existing platforms, with a few notable exceptions:

- You can only build one Heavy Platform
- Only the Heavy Platform can mount a Heavy Turret
- The Heavy Platform has a larger base footprint than normal platforms.
- Transformers do NOT affect the Heavy Platform.

The Heavy Platform will likely see additional functionality in the future, but for now it exists solely as the pedestal from which the mighty Heavy Turret reigns supreme.
HEAVY TURRET
The Heavy Turret is a larger, more powerful turret that can only be mounted on Heavy Platforms. It is the focal point of tremendous power in your base, so protect it at all costs.

For now, there is only one type of Heavy Turret, but more will be released in the future.
CORRECTING TRANSFORMERS
Currently, base defense is experiencing a significant imbalance in its distribution of power. Transformers do a 5x boost at max, making the platforms they boost account for 20 turrets worth of power (plus 6 normal turrets, putting base power at 26 turrets at max). However, Transformers are also very fragile, so that boost in power can swing wildly when they’re destroyed (from 26 turrets down to 10 turrets almost instantly).
This makes the entirety of base combat come down to destroying Transformers, which doesn’t make for engaging combat over a sustained amount of time. Once the Transformers are destroyed, a base can be rolled almost no matter what.
In light of this, we are decreasing the power of Transformers and redistributing that power across several other places. This should provide a more sustained challenge as you tackle different areas of a base.
WHAT’S CHANGING
To start, Transformers’ boosts are lowering so that it’s not as much of a power swing when they’re destroyed. The power originally centralized in Transformers is being redistributed across the rest of the base in the form of health for Defense Support buildings and turret strength.

These changes may prompt a few changes to your base defense setup, but overall this should more evenly distribute Defense power across an entire base, and subsequently make base combat more engaging for the entire battle. Good luck!
