Matchmaking Improvements

May.02.2017 BY KIXEYE_Chris

A new version of the game is now available to download for Android and iOS. As previously mentioned, the latest release includes changes to matchmaking in PvP Battle. There have been a number of questions surrounding these changes. We would like to give a few more details about matchmaking overall and where it is going.

First, we want to be clear that the recent changes to matchmaking are the first step in a sweeping overhaul. The current state of matchmaking is not the end destination.

Pairing two players of an appropriate power level together requires consideration of many factors including player level, building upgrades, unit promotions & equipment, personal infamy, amount of banked resources and more. With so many factors coming into play, we need to roll out several changes over a few releases.

We understand that players are being attacked by others with a player level that is significantly higher. That’s partially because player level is an estimation of power and not the be-all & end-all. Infamy is another number that is an estimation of power. There currently is no single definitive aggregate of power, which makes matchmaking a bit imprecise. This is what we are looking to fine tune.

We will keep you informed as to when future matchmaking improvements are implemented and nearing completion of the process. Even then, we will likely make a few tweaks based on win rates and community response.

In the meantime, please continue to give us your feedback as we are always listening for ways to enhance your experience in Rogue Assault.

Thanks.
